Law Enforcement Respond to Two Sunday Afternoon Robberies

On Sunday at approximately 12:02 p.m., officers with the Goldsboro Police Department responded to a report of an armed robbery at Vapor Plus, located at 2605 Royall Ave.

The business reported that a man entered the business and threatened employees with a firearm. The suspect removed U.S. cash currency from the business during the incident. 

At approximately 12:12 p.m., officers responded to a report of another armed robbery at 5-Star Convenience Store (3504 Central Heights Road).

The business reported that a man threatened employees with a firearm and removed U.S. cash currency from the business. Witnesses gave a description of the suspect’s vehicle and the direction of travel.

Deputies with the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office were able to locate the vehicle and detain the driver and passenger. The two subjects were identified as Jamario Deshawn Weeks, 33, and Daniel Jay Wiltshire II, 22. A firearm was located inside the vehicle.

Weeks and Wiltshire II, were transported to the Goldsboro Police Department.

The Goldsboro Police Department’s Investigative Services Bureau was contacted and responded. As a result of the investigation, Weeks and Wiltshire II, were charged with the two incidents. The charges were as follows:

Weeks: Two counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon, and two counts of conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Wiltshire II: Two counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon, two counts of conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Both individuals were ordered to be held with no bond pending a first appearance in court on Monday at 1 p.m.

The charges are a result of a combined effort between the Goldsboro Police Department’s Operations Bureau, Investigative Services Bureau, and the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.

The Goldsboro Police Department would also like to thank the members of the Goldsboro Fire Department who assisted in this case. The investigation is still ongoing and additional charges may be forthcoming.
