Marion Valerie Klem, 65, passed away on Friday, March 8, 2024, at Wayne UNC Health Care in Goldsboro. Valerie was born on February 14, 1959, in New Hanover County.

Valerie was a member of Saint John’s Free Will Baptist Church. Among her many talents, Valerie enjoyed reading cookbooks and cooking up new creations for her family to enjoy. She loved to be outdoors, fishing, and listening to country music.

Valerie is survived by her mother, Marion Harrison Westbrook; her son, Johnathan Klem, and fiancé, Breanna Shirey; and her brother, Michael Taylor.

She was preceded in death by her father, Sammy Westbrook, Sr.; her brothers, Wayne Edward, Allen Groves, and Sammy Westbrook, Jr.

A service to celebrate Valerie’s life will be held on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home in Goldsboro with Pastor Wade Parker officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
