Between Jan. 1 and Mar. 4, the Goldsboro Police Department responded to 11 separate incidents of breaking/felony larceny at Storage Rentals of America, located at 4163 US 70 East. In each case, the suspect took items from the victim’s storage unit.
On March 4, at approximately 3 a.m., the Goldsboro Police Department “A” Shift was conducting an area check of the storage facility due to the numerous break-ins and discovered a vehicle in the storage unit facility.
A suspect, Donald Jacob Bargoil, 28, fled on foot from “A” Shift officers, leaving a female behind in the vehicle. Bargoil was apprehended a short time later by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.
Bargoil was taken into custody without incident. He was initially charged with one count of breaking and entering, seven counts of larceny of a firearm, and seven counts of possession of a firearm by a felon by the Goldsboro Police Department’s Investigations Division.
On Tuesday, after further investigation by the Goldsboro Police Department’s Investigation Division, Bargoil was charged with an additional 10 counts of breaking and entering, felony larceny, and possession of stolen Goods in relation to the numerous break-ins at the storage facility.
Bargoil is being held under a combined bond of $253,500.
