On Mar. 18, at 12:27 p.m., officers with the Goldsboro Police Department responded to an alert from the ShotSpotter gunfire detection system in the 1100 block of Olivia Lane.
Responding officers determined that several shots were fired from a vehicle at a group of individuals in the area.
One of these victims was identified as a 17-year-old juvenile. A description of the suspect vehicle was disseminated, and officers began searching the area.
Approximately 10 minutes later, officers located the vehicle in the 1900 block of Day Circle. Several subjects were detained, and multiple firearms were found in the vehicle.
The Investigative Services Bureau responded to the scene to assist with the investigation.
As a result of the investigation, Travion Johnique Hooker, 18, and Reginald Decarlos Boyette 22, were arrested and charged. This investigation is still ongoing and additional arrests are expected.
The charges in this investigation are the result of the combined efforts of the Operations Bureau and Investigative Services Bureau of the Goldsboro Police Department. The ShotSpotter gunfire detection system was also instrumental in this incident.
