On Sunday, at approximately 12:37 a.m., officers with the Goldsboro Police Department were contacted by officers with the UNC Health Wayne Police Department.

Officers from UNC Health Wayne reported that a male subject with a gunshot wound had walked up to the hospital.

Officers spoke with the victim, Dangelo Delarosa, 48, Goldsboro, who stated he had been shot by an unknown subject(s) while driving near Wayne Memorial Drive and Country Day Road.

Delarosa was in stable condition and was subsequently taken to ECU Health in Greenville as a precaution. The Goldsboro Police Department’s Investigative Services Bureau was contacted and responded to the scene.

The investigation is ongoing, and no additional details will be released at this time.
