The festival started at 9 a.m. with the third annual Keith Stewart Daffodil Dash. The race honors a former co-chair of the Daffodil Festival who served in his position for over 20 years before he died.
The Daffodil Festival opening ceremonies began at 10 a.m. with a flyover from the Bandit Flight Team and an awards presentation for the Daffodil Dash.
Entertainment during the Daffodil Festival included Fremont Preschool, A Step of Class Dance Studio, Fremont Stars, North Tower Band, Jimmy Deve, In Motion Entertainment, Tony Jonez, and NorthBound Worship.
The Daffodil Festival also featured a children’s area with inflatables, a car show with the Wayne County Cruisers, the Eastern Carolina Vintage Farm Equipment Club, and NC Party Pals.
Food trucks offering a wide variety of options lined the streets of downtown Fremont, and over 150 vendors selling handmade crafts and clothes were on hand.
