The Boys & Girls Clubs of Wayne County recently added a pair of employees to their staff.
Former Charles B. Aycock High School baseball standout Connor Narron has been hired as the Boys & Girls Clubs of Wayne County’s Director of Operations.

Narron was drafted out of high school in 2010 in the fifth round of the Major League Baseball Draft by the Baltimore Orioles. He played in the minor leagues for six years for the Orioles and the Milwaukee Brewers.
After playing professionally, he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business from the University of Phoenix all while coaching for the past six years in the minor leagues for the Atlanta Braves.
During Narron’s time as a minor league coach, the Braves won the World Series in 2021.
Narron is the son of former New York Yankees catcher and current Los Angeles Angels catching coach Jerry Narron.
Being a part of the Boys and Girls Club has come full circle for Narron as he played basketball for a season at the Goldsboro location as a child.
Wimberly brings over two decades of diverse professional experience to her role as the Director of Administration at the Boys & Girls Club of Wayne County.
Before joining the Boys & Girls Club, she was integral to the Community Council for the Arts in Kinston as the Assistant Executive Director. Initially hired as the Director of Events and Development, Wimberly skillfully managed a variety of events, both small and large-scale, which led to her promotion.
Wimberly’s extensive background also includes impactful roles at Lenoir Community College as a Veterans Representative and Financial Aid Counselor, and earlier, as an Oncology Patient Advocate at ECU Hematology/Oncology.
Throughout her career, Wimberly has demonstrated a profound commitment to community service and support, skillfully managing administrative duties, leading event planning initiatives, and offering compassionate guidance to diverse populations.
