Randy Stephen Lanier, 67, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family, on Monday, April 29, 2024. Randy was born in Marietta, Georgia to the late Bobby and Jeanette Rouse Lanier on September 28, 1956. In addition to his parents, Randy was preceded in death by his brother, David Lanier.

A successful businessman, Randy owned and operated his own business for over 25 years. He later went into the insurance business, working as a life insurance broker. Noted for his professional integrity and innumerable contributions to society as a whole, Randy was listed in the Marquis Who’s Who business publication.

With a zest for large living, Randy was flamboyant in nature and extravagant in taste. An excellent chef, he was a true foodie who could create delightful dishes in the kitchen or on the grill. Time fishing was always a great pleasure, and his love of travel was quenched with trips throughout the United States and all over the world.

Deeply involved with family, Randy was a proud father and good friend who placed others before himself. Loving a good joke, he always had one to offer. If he ever heard a good one, he’d automatically add it to his collection and tell it in his circle of friends to garner a laugh.

A service of love and remembrance will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. at Rouse Funeral Home. The family will receive friends in the hour prior to service. Committal will follow at Fairview Cemetery.

Randy is survived by his sons, Josh Lanier and Brock Lanier; grandchildren, Becca and Maddie Lanier; and aunt, Judy Ellis and husband, Marshall.
