Elbert Gordon Aycock, 87, passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at Wayne UNC Health Care in Goldsboro. Gordon was born in Wayne County to the late Elbert A. and Thelma Helms Aycock on July 10, 1936.
Gordon lived his dream proudly serving his country in the United States Army. His valor and skill were recognized with numerous decorations, including a Bronze Star. Gordon retired as a Sergeant First Class after 21 years of service.
Gordon also owned and operated Aycock Home Products. For 35 years, he enjoyed working in sales but most of all he enjoyed the many friends he had made from his successful career in Goldsboro.
God was always first in Gordon’s life, above all else. His church, Daniels Chapel, and church family were very important to him.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 18, 2024, from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home followed by a graveside service at 2:00 p.m. in Wayne Memorial Park with military honors.
Gordon is survived by his wife of 61 years, Ingrid Kasting Aycock; sons, Michael Gordon Aycock of Chester, Virginia, and Mark Edward Aycock of Garner; grandsons, Christopher Aycock, Justin Aycock, and Ryan Aycock; and sister, Betty Lou Conner.
