MOUNT OLIVE — This morning firefighters from Dudley were dispatched to a call where a Flowers Bakery truck had crashed into a house on 117 Alternate and Country Club Road.
The Flowers Bakery truck was heading north on 117 Alternate, when it ran off the right side of the road, crossed a ditch, and crashed into the front porch of a house. No one in the house was injured.
The Mount Olive Fire Department was also dispatched but the call was canceled en route to the call. Wayne EMS Station 9, along with a Paramedic supervisor responded to the crash and transported the driver of the truck to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
A state trooper from the North Carolina Highway Patrol arrived on the scene to investigate the accident.
