Rachel Yvonne Splawn Wade, 80, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center. Born in Inman, South Carolina on August 15, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Gordon and Fannie Powers Splawn.

In addition to her parents, Rachel was preceded in death by her husband, Alonzo Glenn Wade; and brothers, Moody Splawn and Perry Splawn.

Rachel is survived by her sons, Anthony Glenn Wade and Russell Eric Wade, and wife, Jennifer; grandchildren, Derek Wade, Mackenzie Wade, and Caleb Wade; great-grandchildren, Casey, Rayne, and Rylie; and sister, Naomi Perryman and husband, Jim.

Rachel enjoyed being outdoors, especially when she had the opportunity to work in her garden. Her tender care was evident in every area of her yard. Rachel’s family was her pride and joy. She loved to spoil them all and anytime the family was out and about, she paid for everything.

Rachel was a dedicated and faithful member of Faith Free Will Baptist Church.

A service to celebrate Rachel’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 1, 2024, in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home with Rev. Christian Powell officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. in the hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
