On Friday at approximately 9:33 a.m., officers with the Goldsboro Police Department responded to the area of South Slocumb Street and Harris Street about a shooting.

Upon arriving in the area, officers located the crime scene and were advised that the shooting victim had already been transported to UNC Health Wayne via personal vehicle. 

The victim, Orondi Rashad Ellis, 40, Walstonburg, was airlifted to ECU Health in Greenville for further treatment, and his condition is unknown at this time. 

Investigations and the Crime Scene Unit responded to the scene. The investigation is in the early stages and additional information will be released at a later time.
