Bobby Earl Heath

June 2, 2024, 85, Goldsboro —

Bobby Earl Heath, 85, passed away peacefully and was welcomed into the arms of Jesus at Kitty Askins Hospice Center on Sunday, June 2, 2024. Born in Greene County on August 6, 1938, he was the son of the late Fitzhugh Lee Heath and Nellie Belle Jones Heath.

In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by his siblings, Chester Heath, Douglas Heath, and Agnes Heath.

Bobby is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth Jo Mercer Heath; children, John Heath, Sheri Hall and husband, Linwood, and Sharon Cox and husband, Clifton; grandchildren, Linwood Hall, Jr. and wife Tiffany, Jared Hall and wife, Kathryn, Caleb Cox, and Ryan Hall; great-grandchildren, Skylar, Derek, and Sophie Hall; and special niece, Nancy Radford.

For twenty years, Bobby served his country in the United States Navy. Bobby had a keen and deep appreciation for his country and the opportunities that his time in the Navy provided for him.

A devoted Christian, Bobby’s primary goal in life was to maintain a close relationship with his Lord. He lived his faith openly and would share with others often of his Lord and Savior. Bobby was an ordained minister and loved nothing more than to share the Good News with others. He could be seen often visiting the sick, letting them know he was praying for them. We can rest assured that Bobby was welcomed with the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant” as he met his Savior.

Deeply involved with family, Bobby was a proud husband, father, and grandfather who placed family before himself. He loved nothing more than spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

A memorial service to celebrate Bobby’s life will be held on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Freedom Baptist Church. The family will receive friends following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Freedom Baptist Building Fund, 300 Country Day Rd, Goldsboro, NC 27530 or to The Gideons International P.O. Box 97251 Washington, DC 20090-7251 in memory of Bobby.
