Herbert Taylor, Jr., 67, went to be with his Lord on Friday, May 31, 2024, while surrounded by his friends.

Herb was born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island to the late Eileen and Herbert Taylor, Sr. on July 4, 1956. He treasured his time and memories of serving in the United States Air Force. Herb’s valor and skill was recognized with numerous decorations.

Herb loved being outside, fishing, and spending time with his friends. He worshiped with the congregation at Jones Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church of Mount Olive, NC.

Herb retired as a service technician with AT&T and later worked with Walmart in Smithfield.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at the Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery with military honors.

Herb is not survived by any immediate family but will be remembered fondly by his dear friends, Patsy and Donald Schaff, whom he lived with for many years.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to help with funeral expenses.
