Doris Turner Tillman, 88, passed away on Monday, June 10, 2024 at her home. Born in Johnston County on October 13, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Jesse James and Christine Ellis Turner.

In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Bunny Lloyd Tillman; son, J.B. Tillman; daughter, Patricia Ann Tillman; and siblings, Rachel, Margie, Hilda, Joyce Ann, and Jess Ellen.

Doris is survived by her children, Arnold Tillman (Jeannine), JoAnn Tillman, and Margaret Tillman Melrose (Bobby); daughter-in-law, Donna Tillman; grandchildren, Lloyd, Michael, Jesse, Rebecca, Tiffany, Elizabeth, Katie, Cody, Danielle, and Bryan; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Mackinzie, Allen, Missy, Anna, Payton, Evan, Zachary, Kalli, Harminnie, Chelsea, Harper, Malaya, Jacob, Abbey, and William; brother, Ray Turner; and several nieces and nephews.

A devout Christian, Doris was a longtime member of Trinity Baptist Church in Goldsboro. She personified a good and faithful servant.

Doris was devoted and dedicated to her family. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend.

A service to celebrate Doris’ life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 13, 2024, in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home with Rev. Justin Payton officiating. Interment will follow at Princeton Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
