Fourth Annual Jamz Out Juneteenth Celebration Being Held Saturday

The fourth annual Jamz Out Juneteenth celebration is being held from 2 p.m. to 8 on Saturday at The Hub in downtown Goldsboro.

Juneteenth, also known as Juneteenth Independence Day or Freedom Day, is an American holiday that commemorates the June 19, 1865, announcement of the abolition of slavery in the U.S. state of Texas, and more generally the emancipation of enslaved African Americans throughout the former Confederate States of America.

Hosted by 92.7 FM JAMZ, Jamz Out Juneteenth will feature live entertainment, vendors, food, and bouncy houses.

Musical talent scheduled for Jamz Out Juneteenth includes !veon and Da Smitty Band.

92.7 FM JAMZ on-air personality Kay-Tee, 105.7 FM WFMC on-air personality Averil Williams, and Goldsboro High School graduate and current Seattle Seahawks defensive tackle Jarran Reed are among the scheduled speakers for the event.
