Crowd Fills The Hub for Fourth Annual Juneteenth Celebration

A crowd braved stifling heat on Saturday to fill The Hub in downtown Goldsboro for the fourth annual Jamz Out Juneteenth Celebration on Saturday. 

Juneteenth, also known as Juneteenth Independence Day or Freedom Day, is an American holiday that commemorates the June 19, 1865, announcement of the abolition of slavery in the U.S. state of Texas, and more generally the emancipation of enslaved African Americans throughout the former Confederate States of America.

Hosted by 92.7 FM JAMZ, Jamz Out Juneteenth featured live entertainment, vendors, food, and bouncy houses.

Musical talent at Jamz Out Juneteenth included !veon and Da Smitty Band.

92.7 FM JAMZ on-air personality Kay-Tee, 105.7 FM WFMC on-air personality Averil Williams, and Goldsboro High School graduate and current Seattle Seahawks defensive tackle Jarran Reed were among the speakers for the event.
