United Way Days of Action Being Held Thursday and Friday

United Way of Wayne County is hosting its annual community-wide volunteering event, Day of Action, on Thursday and Friday.

Volunteer opportunities are still available for the Day of Action.

Day of Action is dedicated to mobilizing volunteers to work on various community-beneficial projects. This year, United Way of Wayne County is partnering with several local nonprofit agencies to execute these projects
with support from local government and businesses, civic groups, Seymour Johnson Air Force
Base, and County and City residents.

Volunteers will complete over 20 projects across the county, including beautifying local roads, agency facilities, and cemeteries to sorting books for community distribution.

Volunteers and donors are needed, and United Way of Wayne County invites local businesses, civic groups, government/nonprofit agencies, and individuals to get involved.

This year, the 333rd Fighter Squadron from Seymour Johnson Air Force Base will participate in Litter Sweeps throughout Wayne County (June 20th).

The United Way is encouraging local leaders to join these men and women in helping keep Wayne County litter-free. If you are unable to attend the Day of Action, the United Way is accepting donations of cases of water, sunscreens, and bug sprays for the Litter Sweep.

To participate, visit unitedwayne.org/dayofaction and select a project that interests you.
