Margie Lorraine Williams was the oldest daughter born to the late Bishop James L. And Maude Mae King Williams. She was born May 09, 1943, in Sampson County, North Carolina. Her heavenly reward was received on Sunday, June 16, 2024, at ECU Health, located in Greenville, NC, surrounded by her beloved daughters. Lorraine graduated from Hargrove High School in 1962 and attended The Shades of Beauty Cosmetology School in Durham, NC, in 1963, receiving her Cosmetology License and practicing as a licensed cosmetologist until her health declined.
Lorraine married the love of her life, Albert Darden, on October 26, 1964.
Four daughters were born into this union: Angela, Marlene, Lonice, and Larice. She was a devoted wife for 41 years and a loving mother to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Lorraine united in marriage with the late Moses Darden on November 3, 2007, and was a devoted wife until his passing in 2018.
She was employed by R. G. Barry’s in Goldsboro, NC, from 1971 until 1991. Lorraine then enjoyed employment at Hemco, Inc., in Newton Grove, North Carolina, until their closure in 1997.
In death, she was preceded by her parents, Bishop James L. Williams and Maude Mae King Williams; husband, Albert Darden, and Moses Darden; and daughter, Larice Darden.
Fond memories remain in the hearts of her daughters: Angela ( Raymond) Ward of Rosewood, North Carolina, Marlene (Donald) Little of Winterville, North Carolina, and Lonice ( Joe) Williams of Suffolk, Virginia. Six grandchildren: Marquita ( Mark) Burrus of Winterville, North Carolina; Angelica Ward of Goldsboro, North Carolina; Ericka Faison of Greenville, North Carolina; Ileisha Hill of Pikeville, North Carolina.
Maranda ( William) Ellegor of Winterville, North Carolina, and Bryson Williams of Suffolk, Virginia. 13 Great-Grandchildren. Three sisters: Annie Chestnut of Clinton, North Carolina, Wilma ( Alden) Glaspie of Faison, North Carolina, and Josephine ( Jerome) Mitchell of Salsbury, Maryland; one sister-in-law, Martha Denise King; one brother-in-law; Willie R. Darden, A Special cousin Benjamin King of Clayton, North Carolina, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
