The towns of Pikeville and Seven Springs have fireworks celebrations planned in honor of the Fourth of July.
Pikeville’s “Freedom Fireworks” are being held on Saturday with festivities beginning at 5 p.m.
Hosted by the Greater Pikeville Improvement Committee, this free event will feature three streets lined with food trucks, a kid’s zone, and live music on two stages. The fireworks are scheduled to begin around 9 p.m.
Seven Springs is holding its annual fireworks celebration beginning at 7 p.m. on July 6 at the boat landing. The event will feature food trucks with options including ICEE, Mexican food, brisket, hamburgers, hot dogs, and funnel cakes.
The fireworks display, which is scheduled to begin at 9 p.m., is being done by Dennis Lewis, in memory of his parents, Rev. Leon and Ruth Lewis.
The Town of Seven Springs did note that should the NC Forest Service of Wayne County put a ban on fireworks in the county due to a lack of rain, an announcement would be made on the Town’s Facebook page and the Town’s website.
