Herman Worth Edwards, Jr., 87, went to be with his Lord on Friday, June 28, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family. H.W. was born in Wilson County to the late Herman Worth Edwards, Sr. and Roxie Wadsworth Edwards on February 20, 1937. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Mitchell Edwards; brother, Raine Edwards; and sister, Yvonne Gary.
H.W. proudly served his country in the United States Army. For many years, H.W. worked in the electrical supply industry. He had a great love for bluegrass music and whenever possible you could find him playing, singing, and listening to some good music.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Kelley Buffaloe officiating. The family will greet friends following the service at the cemetery.
H.W. is survived by his wife of 24 years, Beverly Nye Edwards of Red Springs; sister, Peggy Joyce Edwards of Rhode Island; several nieces and a nephew he loved very much.
