The Wayne County Chamber of Commerce is holding its annual State of the Military event at Noon on Aug. 22 at the Goldsboro Events Center.

The event will provide those in attendance to hear from key leaders from Seymour Johnson Air Force Base as well as the Military Affairs Committee.

In June, Senator Ted Budd (R-NC) put to rest much of the uncertainty surrounding Seymour Johnson when he voted to advance the Fiscal Year (FY) 2025 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) to the Senate floor.

Senator Budd secured a provision that fully prohibits the Air Force from divesting F-15E Strike Eagle aircraft at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base through 2029.
