CHERRYVILLE — Wayne County Post 11 will face Shelby on Monday at 7:30 p.m. on day three of the North Carolina American Legion State Tournament.

Shelby Post 82 defeated Garner 5-2 on Monday morning in a game that was postponed from Sunday night.

Monday evening’s game can be heard here. The winner advances to the tournament finals.

Shelby defeated Wayne County 6-3 on June 7.

Post 11 scored double-digit runs for the second consecutive day in an 11-3 victory over Union County Post 535 on Sunday evening on day two of the North Carolina American Legion double-elimination State Tournament.

Post 11 (34-9) has scored 23 runs through its first two games of the state tournament.
