Danny Perry, 82, passed away on Monday, July 29, 2024, at UNC Health Wayne. Born in Wayne County on January 17, 1942, he was the son of the late Randolph William and Lilly Mae Jones-Perry.
In addition to his parents, Danny was preceded in death by his daughters, Cindy Garrett and Kim McGhee; granddaughter, Paige Garrett; great-granddaughter, Felicity Sauls; sister, Annie Lou Edgerton; and brothers-in-law, Earl Taylor and Robert Edgerton.
Danny is survived by his wife, Edith Perry; grandchildren, Daniel Garrett (Bre), Alexis Pope (Anthony Coia), and Dallas Pope; great-grandchildren, Mason Garrett, Archer Coia, and Scarlett Coia; sister, Jean Taylor; and granddaughter-in-law, Jessica Garrett. Danny is also survived by many nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.
Danny worked for many years as a route salesman with Franklin Baking Company in Goldsboro.
Danny enjoyed all sports, especially watching his favorite football teams. Nothing pleased Danny more than being on the golf course. Whenever the opportunity presented itself, he would load up his clubs and hit the links.
A graveside service to celebrate Danny’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Andy Stovall officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.
