July 29, 2024, 80, Princeton —

Laverne Talton Woodard, 80, of Princeton passed away at her home on Monday, July 29, 2024.  She was born in Johnston County on February 20, 1944, to the late Ivey Talton and Mabel Dixon Talton.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by Charles Vernon Woodard and their son,  Charles Vernon Woodard II., and sister, Barbara Thomas.

She is survived by her daughter, Angela Woodard and husband, Sam Chalk; brother, Glen Talton and wife, Judy; sisters, Evelyn Mancuso, and Peggy Kornegay; grandchildren, Heather Woodard Rabil and husband, Zach, and Savannah McAninch; great-grandchildren, Chuck, Ryder and Keeley Rabil.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at Casey Funeral Home and cremations.

The funeral will be held in the chapel of Casey Funeral Home and Cremations on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at 6:00 pm with the Pastor Dennis Pollock and Steven Gay officiating.  The committal will be held on Thursday, August 1, 2024, at 11:00 am in Princeton Cemetery.
