July 29, 2024, 86, Goldsboro —

Linda Edwards Capps, 86, of Goldsboro peacefully entered eternal rest at her home on Monday, July 29, 2024, with her son and granddaughter by her side.  She was born in Johnston County on October 5, 1937, to the late Robert Preston Edwards, Jr. and Gertrude Toler Edwards.  In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by her loving husband; Theron Capps, daughter; Stephanie Capps, daughter-in-law; Twila Capps and brother; William Edwards.

She loved her Lord and Savior and was a good and faithful servant.  She was an active member at Antioch Presbyterian Church for more than 50 years.

Outside of church, Mrs. Capps loved serving others. For 16 years Linda worked alongside many amazing women in the Rosewood Elementary School cafeteria. Not only did she develop close friendships with her co-workers, she also loved every child that came through her line. She considered it a privilege to feed their smiling faces.

Linda lived a kind, honest life with Jesus in her heart, and more than anything she loved her family. She built the foundation of her family on love and tradition that her loved ones will proudly carry on.

She is survived by her son; Stephen Capps,  grandchildren; Emily Hopkins (Derek), and Lauren Capps, great-grandchildren; Leighton Norris, Layla Tripplet, Ava Hopkins, and Tate Hopkins, brother; Johnny Wayne Edwards.
