On Saturday, officers from the Goldsboro Police Department were dispatched to a felony larceny that had just occurred at Dick’s Sporting Goods, located at 505 Eastgate Drive.
A description of multiple suspects and a suspect vehicle were provided.
Officers located the suspect vehicle traveling westbound on US 70 and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. The suspect vehicle refused to stop for the officers and led the officers on a 22-mile pursuit to Wilson.
When the suspect vehicle finally stopped, the four occupants exited the vehicle. Two of the occupants led law enforcement on a foot pursuit but were ultimately apprehended.
During the investigation, it was determined that the four suspects had stolen from four stores in Goldsboro: Dick’s Sporting Goods, JCPenney, Ross and TJ Maxx.
Over $5,700 in merchandise was recovered and returned to the respective stores. All the suspects were transported back to Goldsboro, where they were charged and brought to the Magistrate’s Office. Wilson County Sheriff’s Office secured additional charges.
The Goldsboro Police Department would like to thank the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, North Carolina State Highway Patrol, Pikeville Police Department, Fremont Police Department, Wilson County Sheriff’s Office, and Wilson Police Department for their assistance in the pursuit and apprehension of the suspects.
