Clark Hood Bennett, 74, passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2024. He was born in Wayne County to the late John Allen Bennett and Ruth Alice Hood Bennett on April 19, 1950. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Gail Lucas Bennett, and brothers, John Wayne Bennett and Reed Owen Bennett.

Clark served as a police officer for many years in Goldsboro, Benson, and High Point. He retired while serving as an officer at Cherry Hospital.

Clark had a wonderful sense of humor and never took himself too seriously. He was a good friend and had a generous heart. Clark will always be remembered for his love of a good practical joke whether done to him or by him as well as his true love of family, friends, and life.

At his request, no formal services will be held. The family will gather for a private service at a later date.

Clark is survived by his daughter, Erica Lynn Lewis; son, Paul Eugene Bennett; grandson, Allen Bennett; great-grandson, Bentley Bennett; and brothers, David Allen Bennett and Jack Rose Bennett.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Clark’s memory to the charity of one’s choice.
