On Friday at approximately 8:04 a.m., officers with the Goldsboro Police Department were dispatched to 905 S. Slocumb St. for a report of a shooting.

When officers arrived, they located Joshua Shabazz Faison, 22, Goldsboro, suffering from gunshot wounds.

Wayne County EMS responded to the scene and pronounced Faison deceased.

The Goldsboro Police Department’s Investigative Services Bureau responded and initiated an investigation into the incident.

At approximately 10:28 a.m., as a result of the investigation, the Goldsboro Police Department’s Emergency Response Team took a 23-year-old male suspect into custody in the 900 block of Hugh Street.

Charges relating to the homicide are forthcoming, and identifying information regarding the suspect will be released later.
