WCC to Recognize Constitution Day

Wayne Community College will take part in honoring the United States Constitution next week.

Tommy Jarrett will give a presentation at 11 a.m. on Tuesday in Moffatt Auditorium located in the Wayne Learning Center.

Jarrett, an attorney and former member of the WCC Board of Trustees, will speak about the Constitution as it relates to voting in America.

Additionally, a display on the Constitutional Convention and the contents of the document it created, as well as its amendments, will be set up in the Atrium of the Wayne Learning Center for viewing from Sept. 16, through Sept. 20.

These activities are free and open to the public to attend.

Constitution Day commemorates the signing of the U.S. Constitution on Sept. 17, 1787. Constitution and Citizenship Day educational programs are mandated by federal legislation for all educational institutions that receive federal funding.

WCC encourages persons with disabilities to participate in its programs and activities. If you anticipate needing accommodations or have questions about access, contact the Accessibility Counselor at (919) 739-6729.
