Mr. Java Ray Bruce, 44, completed his earthly journey and transitioned from this earthly walk of life on Sunday, September 8, 2024. Java was born in Lumberton, NC to the late Clifford Ray Bruce and Evelyn Hunt Bruce. The celebration and remembrance of his life will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at 6:00 pm at J.B. Rhodes Funeral Home and Cremations, 1701 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, NC.
Java was a very loving, caring, giving, and compassionate person, who was very proud of his American Indian heritage. Java loved kids. He would give you the shirt off his back. He would help whoever he could, however he could, whenever he could. Java was employed by Turner Equipment Company (Turner Tanks) in Goldsboro, NC, and was a hard worker.
Java is survived by and leaves to cherish his precious memories to his mother, Evelyn Hunt Bruce, Lumberton, NC; his sons: Kaleb Dalton (Marla Chase) Lassiter and Kaiden Dillon Lassiter, his significant other ( Pamela Sue Lassiter); his sister, Angela Dawn Bruce; his extended family: Mr. James Elliott (father figure) Susan Elliott (mother figure) Trey Elliott and Anthony (Christina) Elliott, who were like his brothers, Summer Elliott, who was like a sister to Java; his god daughter, Nicole Pitts, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
