Arrest Made in Attempted Murder Case

On July 17, at approximately 8:44 p.m., officers with the Goldsboro Police Department responded to a ShotSpotter alert of 61 rounds in the 700 block of S. Audubon Ave.

Once officers arrived on the scene, it was discovered that several vehicles in the area were damaged by gunfire.

Several suspects were observed firing at a group of people standing on Olivia Lane.

Seven of these victims were identified. During the investigation, officers identified Jahari Hardy, 20, Goldsboro, as one of the suspects.

Seven warrants of attempted first degree murder and two counts of injury to personal property were secured on Hardy.

On Monday, Hardy was apprehended on Artesa Drive with the assistance of the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office and the State Bureau of Investigation.

Hardy is being held in the Wayne County Jail under no bond. This investigation is still ongoing.
