Two Wounded in Saturday Evening Shooting

On Saturday, at approximately 6:46 p.m., officers with the Goldsboro Police Department responded to two alerts from the ShotSpotter gunfire detection system in the 1100 block of Olivia Lane.

Officers were also made aware of several 911 calls reporting someone had been shot in the area.

When officers arrived, they located Damon Romell Outlaw, 53, suffering from gunshot wounds.

Outlaw was transported to UNC Health Wayne for treatment. He was subsequently flown to ECU Health in Greenville for further treatment.

Outlaw was said to be in critical condition. 

While at UNC Health Wayne, officers were made aware that a second gunshot victim had arrived at the emergency room in a private vehicle. This victim was identified as a 16-year-old male juvenile. 

He sustained non-life threatening injuries and is in stable condition. 

The Goldsboro Police Department’s Investigative Services Bureau was contacted and initiated an investigation into the shooting. The investigation is still developing at this time.
