October 19, 2024, 72, Goldsboro —
Pamela Ruth Davis, 72, peacefully departed this life on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center. Pam was born in Goldsboro, NC to the late Edgar and Ellen Mozingo Davis on October 7, 1952. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her aunts, Marie Smith and Nora Kearney; and uncles, E.C. Davis, Bo Kearney, and Ray Gardner.
“Once a nurse, always a nurse.” A phrase every nurse knows, but no truer words could describe Pam who spent her whole adult career as a registered nurse, touching the lives of countless people. She retired from UNC Health Nash in Rocky Mount where she served as a licensed paralegal nursing consultant.
Pam was a member of The First Pentecostal Holiness Church. When she was able, she participated in worship as a member. As her health declined, her faith grew stronger. This helped to guide her through the toughest days.
With a love for all animals, Pam cared for many throughout her life. Her dog, Tazer, was loved dearly by Pam.
Pam was a determined lady who pushed through many obstacles that would have stopped others. Her tenacity and her ability to smile through the pain were admired by all who spent time with Pam.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at Seymour Funeral Home in Goldsboro. A service to celebrate Pam’s life will be on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. in the mausoleum chapel at Wayne Memorial Park.
Pam is survived by her dear brother, Kim D. Davis; aunts and uncles, Carlos Smith, Shirley Gardner, Mary Ellen Kearney, Joan Davis, and Randy Davis; cousin, Michael T. Mozingo; honorary niece, Lydia Taylor; and many cousins and friends she loved very much. She is also survived by those she helped raise and loved as her own, Chris Perry, Sandy Perry, Will Perry, and Angie Perry.
Memorials may be given in Pam’s memory to the Wayne County Humane Society, P.O. Box 821, Goldsboro, NC 27533.
