On Oct. 9 at approximately 9:30 p.m., officers with the Goldsboro Police Department responded to the Speedway gas station located in the 400 block of E. Ash Street for a report of a robbery.
The employee on the scene reported that a black male entered the store and assaulted him.
The suspect took the cash register and fled the business.
On Wednesday, a warrant was secured against Odell Larry Sheffield Jr. for one count of Common Law Robbery relating to this incident.
Sheffield was also charged with one count each of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of less than 1/2oz of Marijuana relating to his arrest on Oct. 18.
Sheffield was served while already in the custody of the Wayne County Detention Center on prior aforementioned charges.
Sheffield had a first appearance for these charges scheduled on Thursday where a bond was set by a District Court Judge.
Sheffield was already in custody after being arrested on Oct. 18 for his role in a robbery at Family Dollar in the 2500 block of E. Ash Street on Oct. 10, and an Oct. 11 robbery and stabbing at the Family Dollar in the 1400 block of Wayne Memorial Drive.
Sheffield was also charged with an Oct. 16 robbery at Boost Mobile in the 700 block of E. Ash Street.
Following his arrest on Oct. 18, Sheffield was charged with the following:

1 count Common Law Robbery – $50,000 Secure Bond
1 count Assault With Deadly Weapon Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury- No Bond
1 count Assault Inflicting Serious Bodily Injury – No Bond
1 count Order for Arrest – Possession Drug Paraphernalia – $4,000 Secure Bond
1 count Assault Government Official – $50,000 Secure Bond
1 count Assault on Law Enforcement Officer with Physical Injury – $50,000 Secure Bond
