On Sept. 21 the Nahunta community held its third annual Spirit of Nahunta Day at Nahunta Friends Meeting.

The festival celebrates the unique heritage of the Nahunta Community and its rich history in Eastern North Carolina and is aimed towards the community and families to come together.

This Sunday at Nahunta Friends Meeting proceeds raised from the Spirit of Nahunta Day will be donated to two local charities.

Camp Vision, located in Pikeville, and the northern Wayne County chapter of Cross Trail Outfitters of North Carolina, will receive donations from the Nahunta community.
