Every week, Your Seymour Salute highlights an airman serving at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base in Goldsboro.
Staff Sergeant Phillip Johnson is a weapons load crew team chief from the 336th Fighter Generation Squadron.
Johnson recently returned from a deployment where he proficiently loaded missiles, ammunition, and countermeasures on multiple aircraft. enabling rapid launch and leading to successful air-to-air intercepts against near-peer adversaries.
Additionally, Johnson served as a shift lead during ACE operations during Northern Edge 23-2, enhancing foreign partnerships and ensuring the exercise’s success alongside the Japanese Air Self-Defense Forces.
Johnson also downloaded numerous munitions, contributing to the secure sheltering of aircraft during typhoon preparation, and safeguarding assets valued in the millions. Lastly, he led a crew of three in moving and loading deployment-related cargo, assisting LRS with an on-time return home.
