Ashley was always special from the moment she was born, a true gift from God. As time passed by, that was only confirmed by everyone she knew. She loved helping others, taking care of everything, and doing anything she could, to be a blessing with her many talents. It seemed like there wasn’t anything she couldn’t do. Her giving spirit is what led her to volunteer at Goldsboro Assisted Living facility for two years while attending school. Ashley’s happiness came from making those around her smile. She was sweet, giving, loving, caring, funny, and fierce, particularly when it came to her kids. Everyone who met her was better for having done so.

She was 14 years old when she was lucky enough to meet the love of her life. It’s rare to find a love so true at such a young age but they truly did. Through all the challenges and struggles, Ashley and Brandon built a beautiful life and family over the next 19 years. They overcame obstacles that most would see as insurmountable. This is the kind of love people search for all their lives, and few ever find. Ashley’s family was everything, her whole world, and Mackenzie and Zachary were the center of everything she did. She made sure they all knew how much they were always loved. To Ashley, her family was her greatest treasure and highest priority.

She had a way of making everyone feel cared for. She was a true friend people could count on. Everyone would bring her their problems or pain because she always seemed to have the answer or know exactly what someone needed.

While Ashley didn’t have many hobbies, she absolutely loved to plan a party, every part of it. She was childlike in how excited she would get. She couldn’t wait to share how beautiful she had made everything and all the tiny details. This carried over also in the many picture projects she would do. They were passion projects for her. She loved pictures! No one ever had to take pictures at any events because Ashley had them taken care of, thousands of them.

Ashley worked hard and was very proud of her LPN nursing degree and when she changed careers to work as the Facilitator at MB Stone, she carried that same spirit of helping. Every person she worked with along with the customers she talked to, she made them into friends. She had this amazing way of putting people at ease. Even with all her struggles and hurdles, she always found a way back to being positive, continuing to smile, and still taking care of everything for everyone. She always put other’s needs above her own, especially for her children. They always came first.

Ashley was truly one of a kind and if she could talk to us now, I think she would say “I’m fine, I’m always fine. Please take care of my babies and help Brandon. They are going to need you. I love y’all”.

She is survived by her devoted husband Brandon Dale Head; one daughter Mackenzie Grace Head; one son Zachary Dale Head, all of the home; her mother Denise Daniels of Wilson; one sister Emili Edwards of Wilson; her maternal grandmother Terry Bass of Wilson; her maternal grandfather David Daniels and wife Myra of Goldsboro; one uncle Brad Daniels and wife Shannon of Fremont; two cousins Connor Daniels and Pierce Daniels both of Fremont; one aunt Lauran Sasser Britt of Pikeville; her mother-in-law Stacy Whittington and husband Russ; along with so many other family members, relatives and dear friends she loved deeply.

Ashley was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Dylan Lively, who was like a brother; Grandfather Bob Creighton (Gramps); and her father-in-law, Alton Head who showed her what fatherly love looked like.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the family or funeral home to help in furthering the education of her two children.

Services entrusted to the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
