Albert Edward La Maye, Sr., 84, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family. Born in Erie, Pennsylvania on April 6, 1940, he was the son of the late Grant La Maye Sr. and Jennie Long La Maye.
In addition to his parents, Albert is preceded in death by his son, Christopher La Maye, Sr.; and siblings, Dorothy, James, Joanne, Skip, and Jenna.
Albert is survived by his wife of 28 years, Kathy Henderson La Maye; children, Carlton La Maye, Jr. (Scott), Patricia Leeper (Lance), Jon La Maye, Tina La Maye (Joshua Davis) Al Jr. Julie, and Geoffrey; grandchildren, Amanda, Nicole, Timothy and wife, Paige, Victoria, Devon, Chloe, Christopher, Joseph, Caitlyn, Kyle (Kayla) and a whole host of other grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and brother, Carlton R. La Maye, Sr. Albert is also survived by many nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.
For thirty years, Albert served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He retired with the rank of Master Gunnery Sergeant. In his free time, Albert enjoyed reading, playing golf, and watching old westerns. He was known to spend time working and tinkering on old cars. Albert was his happiest when he was outdoors. He loved going camping, and never turned down an adventure, which he referred to as “scooter poopin’.” Albert could be seen often at flea markets, finding the best deals on stuff, and at the beach with his loving wife, Kathy.
Per Albert’s request, no formal services will be held.
