November 20, 2024, 95, Mount Olive —

Mrs. Isabelle Goodson Mallory, age 95, died peacefully at home on November 20, 2024, surrounded by family.

Born and raised on White Flash Road near Garners Chapel, she attended B.F. Grady School. She received a double degree from Wake Forest University in 1951 and began her teaching career in Oak City, NC.

 She met her husband Bill in Oak City and was married for 66 years at his passing. She and Bill lived in Plymouth for 30 years before retiring from teaching and moving back to Mount Olive. She attended First Baptist Church in Mount Olive where she continued to serve as a pianist and organist for many years. She was also a member of the Carolina Patriots DAR.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bill, her parents Paul and Erma Goodson, and brothers Kenneth and Bernard Goodson.

Surviving are her children, William (Bill) Mallory Jr and Erma Mallory Jones of Mount Olive, grandchildren Olivia and husband Matt Hein of VA, Sydney Jones of NH, Rebecca Jones of Goldsboro, and Josh Jones of Mount Olive, her great-granddaughter Victoria of VA and special friend Pearl Crumpler of Mount Olive. 

 Special thanks go to her caregivers Debra, Sarah, and Victoria.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 24, 2024, at Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive, NC. Visitation will be held at 2 pm and the service will be at 3 pm. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Mount Olive.
