Eastern Wayne defeated Neuse 6 2-A Conference rival Princeton 40-36 on Friday night in the second round of the North Carolina High School Athletic Association 2-A state playoffs.
The Warriors (10-2) visit Whiteville (11-1) on Friday night in the third round. The game is scheduled for 7 p.m.
Princeton finished the season at 7-5.
