Benny Benton Bland, 84, passed away at his home on Thursday, November 21, 2024. Born in Wayne County on January 27, 1940, he was the son of the late Luke Bland and Mary Hare Bland.

In addition to his parents, Benny is preceded in death by his son, Steven Bland.

Benny is survived by his loving wife, Diane Langen Bland; and son, Michael Ray Bland.

Benny faithfully served his country in the United States Marine Corps. After his time in the Marine Corps, Benny moved to Los Angeles and worked in the film industry for many years. After his time in California, Benny moved to Goldsboro and sold used cars. Benny, along with his wife, Diane, would travel all over the country together.

A graveside service with military honors to celebrate Benny’s life will be held on Monday, December 2, 2024, at 2 p.m. at the Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery with Reverend Clay Parker presiding. The family will greet friends immediately following the service at the cemetery.
