Janet Price Sutton, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on November 30, 2024, at the age of 78. Born on January 19, 1946, in Johnston County, North Carolina, to the late Dallas and Vera Price, Janet lived a life filled with love, laughter, and faith.

In addition to her parents, Janet was preceded in death by her husband, James Sutton; her brothers, Donald and Tommie Mack Price; and her sisters, Sylvia Price and Evelyn Hinton.

She is survived by her loving children: Sammy Johnson Jr. (Carol) of Selma, Debbie Eason and Julie McCraw of Wilson’s Mills, Tammy Forbis (Jerry) of Goldsboro, and Angie Sutton of Goldsboro. Janet’s legacy also lives on through her cherished grandchildren: James Johnson (Sarah), Samantha Moye (Blake), Hunter Eason, Kyle Eason, Megan Thompson (Shane), Haley Parrish (Blane), Madison, Taylor Tyndall (Garrett), and Zach Waddell (Sarah), and her great-grandchildren: Myles Thompson, Sawyer Thompson, Henry Moye, and Sofia Tyndall. She will be deeply missed by her sister, Dorothy Smith of Black Creek, and her large extended Johnson family.

Janet was a woman of strong faith. Though unable to attend services in person, she remained connected to her church community through online services. She found joy in the company of her dear friends Sherry, Joy, and Frankie.

With a spirit of adventure, Janet loved to travel. She had a knack for making people smile and often brought laughter to any gathering. A skilled card player, she inherited her love for cards from her parents and was known for her competitive spirit. Janet will truly be missed by all who knew her.

There will be a visitation on Tuesday, December 3, at Seymour Funeral Home from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The funeral will be at The First Church on Wednesday, December 4, at 11 a.m. Flowers are welcome, or you can make a donation to The First Church.
