Douglas Glenn Wiggins, 75, passed away at his home on Sunday, December 1, 2024. Born in Wayne County on February 19, 1949, he was the son of the late Joseph Leon Wiggins and Eleanor Gurley Wiggins.
In addition to his parents, Doug was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph “Dickie” Wiggins.
Doug is survived by his wife, Rosie Shank Wiggins; daughter, Amanda Rose Reyes; grandchildren, Ashllynn Balance and Adley Reyes; and sister, Diana Daughtry and husband, Bobby.
Doug was a dedicated Mason and an active member of the Sudan Temple, where he fostered lifelong friendships and contributed to the well-being of others. He was known for his kindness, integrity, and generosity, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home followed by a graveside service to celebrate Doug’s life at 2:00 p.m. in the Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent in Doug’s memory to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2900 N. Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607.
