Sheila Woodcock Overman, 81, was welcomed into her eternal home on Tuesday morning, December 3, 2024, while surrounded by her family. Sheila was born in Wayne County to the late Murphy and Hesba Lee Johnson Woodcock on December 13, 1942. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Joseph Ralph Overman; son-in-law, Jack Scott, and brother, Billy Ray Woodcock.

Sheila enjoyed a successful career in retail management for over 30 years. She had worked for many years with Scotty’s Department Store. Sheila always enjoyed being at the beach where she could feel the gentle breeze and hear the ocean waves.

A beacon of kindness and compassion, Sheila touched the lives of all who knew her. Her unwavering spirit and boundless dedication to family were evident in every aspect of her life.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 7, 2024, from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home followed by a service to celebrate Sheila’s life at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel with Rev. Ira Williford officiating. Interment will be in the Hill Family Cemetery in LaGrange. The family will receive friends at other times at the home of Pamela Kneeshaw, 102 Bear Creek Road, Goldsboro.

Sheila is survived by her daughters, Sharon O. Scott and Pamela O. Kneeshaw (Jimmy Brown); grandchildren Pamela Jane Eubanks (Robert), Alan Scott (Kelsie), Samantha Kneeshaw, and Heather Kneeshaw; great-grandchild, Brantley Farmer; and sisters, Patricia Bodell and Phyllis Pollock (Bill).

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Sheila’s memory to United In Christ Church, 1314 Patetown Road, Goldsboro, NC 27534.
