Barbara Miller Jackson, 80, of Goldsboro passed away Sunday evening at Kitty Askins Hospice Center with her loving husband by her side. She is the daughter of the late Luther D. and Mary H. Miller. Barbara was a retired clerk and bookkeeper with the Explorer Pipeline Co. Barbara was a member of Emmaus Baptist Church. She enjoyed working with her plants and being with other people, she loved animals, especially her dog, Walker, going shopping or ordering from Amazon, and getting two hugs, one prior to the service and one following the service from Pastor Jim, but most of all she loved being with her husband, Joe.
A service to celebrate Barbara’s life will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at Emmaus Baptist Church at 3:00 P.M. with pastor Jim Willoughby officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
In addition to her husband of 49 years and 6 months, Barbara is survived by a son, Earl D. Vineyard of Texas; a brother, Luther D. Miller of Palm Harbor, FL; cousins, Pam Mitchell and Judy Winchell; a brother-in-law, Gerald Jackson; sisters in law, Brenda Scott, Linda Quinn, and Shirley Mills; a special nephew Ralph Mills and wife, Shana and their children, Leeah and Jackson; special friends, Randy and Carol Lee and Harold Batten; and a host of church family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by a daughter, Dawn Renee Vineyard.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nursing staff at UNC Health Wayne as well as the staff of Kitty Askins Hospice Center for their excellent care of Barbara during her time with them.
