On Nov. 20 at approximately 4:11 p.m., the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence in the 900 block of Dollard Town Road regarding the discovery of human remains.

Patrol deputies and detectives arrived and processed the scene.

The collected remains were sent to the North Carolina Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for analysis.

On Tuesday at approximately 2:15 PM, Wayne County Communications received a call in reference to human remains being located near the same address.

Patrol deputies and detectives responded and observed what appeared to be human remains in the caller’s yard.

Patrol deputies and detectives searched a wooded area adjacent to the caller’s yard, which produced additional human remains.

The remains were transported to UNC Health Wayne and will be sent to the North Carolina Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for analysis.

This investigation is ongoing and no other information will be released at this time.
