The Commission on Community Relations and Development is hosting an event to honor the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. at 7 p.m. on Jan. 15.

This free event is being held at Deeper Life Ministries, located at 900 11th Street. Doors open at 6 p.m.

North Carolina Court of Appeals Judge Carolyn J. Thompson is the keynote speaker.
