Multi-Agency Event Leads to 72 Charges

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Division hosted a multi-agency High Visibility Saturation Patrol on Dec. 13th.

Members from the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office Violent Prevention Response Team (ViPR), DWI Task Force, Highway Interdiction Team, SRO Division, and Patrol Division assisted in the event.

The Fremont Police Department, the Pikeville Police Department, and the North Carolina State Highway Patrol also assisted in the event.

The Forensic Tests for Alcohol BATmobile sat stationary in the southern portion of Wayne County with a Magistrate and Detention Staff for transport on standby while the event was being conducted.

Driving While License Revoked: 7

No Operator License: 4

Child Safety Restraint: 1

Open Containers: 3

Registration Violations: 10

Reckless Driving: 3

No Insurance: 1

Other Traffic Offenses: 16

Misdemeanor Drug Violations: 2

Felony Drug Violations: 1

Felony Arrests: 1
