Doris “Beth” Elizabeth Ham Hill

December 16, 2024, 49, Kinston —

Doris “Beth” Elizabeth Ham Hill, 49, passed away on Monday, December 16, 2024. Born in Lenoir County on September 3, 1975, Beth was the daughter of Sammy Ham and Frances Barfield Ham.

Beth was a devoted soul who found joy in life’s simple pleasures. Beth was known for her passion for baking and cooking. She could spend hours in the kitchen, experimenting with new recipes and creating delicious meals for her family. Whether it was baking a cake or preparing a dinner, Beth always put love and care into her cooking. Her heart overflowed with love for her family, cherishing every moment shared together.

With a creative spirit, Beth’s hands were always busy crafting and coloring, leaving behind a colorful legacy of beauty and artistry. Beth’s passion for coloring was not just a hobby – it was a way of life. She poured her heart and soul into every piece she created, infusing each one with her own unique style and flair. And as long as there were blank pages and colorful markers to be found, Beth would continue to color her way through life with joy and enthusiasm.

To Beth, there was something about fishing that was so calming and peaceful. The sound of the water lapping against the shore, the gentle tug of a fish on the line, the feeling of being completely surrounded by nature – it all made her heart soar.

Beth was the type of person who would give you the shirt off her back without a second thought. She was selfless, kind-hearted, and always willing to help those in need. No matter the situation, Beth was always there to lend a helping hand.

In addition to her parents, Beth is survived by her daughters, Cheyenne Holton and husband, Brandon, and Jody Scalf; her son, Jamie “JJ” Stroud; three grandchildren; her sisters, Karen Pate and Benita Maiorano; and her boyfriend, Steve Alvord.

Beth was preceded in death by her stepfather, Wilbur Heath.

The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Saturday, December 21, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Rouse Funeral Home.
